The Perfect Baby Shower Playlist
Music that sets the mood without dominating the room.
Music matters more than you think. The right playlist creates ambiance; the wrong one creates awkwardness. Here's how to get it right.
The Golden Rules
- Volume: Conversation-level. If people have to raise their voices, it's too loud.
- Length: 2.5–3 hours. Longer than the shower itself so it doesn't loop.
- Vibe: Happy, upbeat, but not aggressive. Think coffee shop, not club.
- Variety: Mix decades and genres so everyone hears something they like.
Safe Playlist Starters
- "Three Little Birds" – Bob Marley
- "Here Comes the Sun" – The Beatles
- "Can't Help Falling in Love" – Elvis
- "Better Together" – Jack Johnson
- "You Are the Best Thing" – Ray LaMontagne
- "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" – Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
- "What a Wonderful World" – Louis Armstrong
- "Isn't She Lovely" – Stevie Wonder
- "Sweet Child O' Mine" – Guns N' Roses (instrumental or clean version)
Pre-Made Spotify Playlists
Search for:
- "Baby Shower Music"
- "Acoustic Covers"
- "Coffee Shop Vibes"
- "Sunday Brunch"
What to Avoid
- Explicit lyrics (grandma is there)
- Sad songs
- Songs about breakups
- Heavy metal or EDM
- Anything so iconic people will sing along (distracting)
Test it: Play your playlist at home a few days before. If any song makes you skip immediately, remove it.
