Office showers have different rules than personal ones. Here's what to know.
Who Organizes?
Typically organized by a close work friend or the team. HR may have guidelines. Keep it low-key.
Who's Invited?
Usually the immediate team. Company-wide invites can feel like a gift grab. Keep it small.
Gifts
$10-25 per person is typical for coworker gifts. Group gifts work well. Don't pressure anyone to contribute.
Format
During lunch or after work, 30-60 minutes. Cake, light snacks, maybe one game. Don't take over the workday.
If You're Already Having a Personal Shower
You can gracefully decline an office shower or suggest a small celebration without gifts. Don't expect full gifts at both events from the same people.
